47th CHICAGO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL: HUGE ASIAN INFUSION

To this point, after 6 films, 6 boxes of popcorn, 6 hot dogs and barely 6 hours of sleep (in 2 days) I have decided to give simple “sees” and “skips”; will review in depth when my life does not belong to AMC 21!

GANDU, (India); 0 STARS! I was one of the few who stayed for the entire painful, senseless diatribe.

CORRODE,  (KSHAY, India); 4 STARS!!!! Excellent black and white film by Karan Gour, who also composed the haunting musical score.

THE LAST RITES OF JOE MAY, (USA); TWO &1/2 STARS!! for the film; FIVE STARS!!!!! for Dennis Farina’s performance.

THE FORGIVENESS OF BLOOD; (USA/Albania) THREE STARS!!! It is a well-made depiction of a stifling feud between warring families.

THE KID WITH A BIKE; (Belgium); FOUR STARS!!!! A light-hearted, wonderful, enchanting tale of a young boy, who looses and finds love.

THE JEWEL; (Italy); FOUR STARS!!!! This contemporary take on the fraudulent corporate world will resonate with all audiences over the age of fifteen.

I am having the time of my life!

For Now………..Peneflix
