AMAZON PRIME TO THE RESCUE

For years Amazon Prime has serviced my rousing, perpetual interest in detective investigations, serial killers (in another life I was either a victim or perpetrator), forensic science; loving the elimination process, exclusion of the obvious, excavating the mendacious. I have suggested some of these in the past, but they are worth repeating, especially at this unsettled time:

“SPIRAL” (French: English Subtitles.) Varying points of view, of criminal investigations in Paris; this could go on forever, the tales and actors are addictively fascinating. FIVE STARS!!!!!

“SILENT WITNESS” (British). For 23 seasons this stunner has captivated universal audiences; forensic scientists solve heinous murders; creatively, the “corpse” is the wordless eyewitness.  FIVE STARS!!!!!

“THE FALL” (British) also on Netflix, is one of the finest “hunted vs hunter” series you’ll invest in; from its commencement viewers know the killer (Jamie Dornan, “50 Shades Trilogy”) against huntress, “Detective Stella Gibson”, Gillian Anderson; it doesn’t get any better. FIVE STARS!!!!!

“BEFORE WE DIE” (Swedish: English Subtitles). 2 seasons of fantastical intrigue as a mother/son combo, (devastating acting by Marie Richardson and gorgeous Adam Palsson), strive to infiltrate a nefarious family of drug runners and cloudy cops; NEVER expect the obvious; intensely thrilling. FIVE STARS!!!!!

“THE SANDHAMM MURDERS” (Swedish: English Subtitles). Death has never looked so enchanting, encased in a landscape of lusciousness, outside Stockholm; the charismatic protagonists, especially Alexandra Rapaport and Jakob Cedergren, keep one lusting for a continuation of their electrifying deciphering aptitudes. FOUR STARS!!!!

“BOOOD OF THE VINE” (French: English Subtitles). Oenophiles will be happily satiated as they imbibe on this charming, savoir-faire, gratifying sleuth: a connoisseur, vineyard expert, detects criminals, with a sommelier’s discerning palate. FOUR STARS!!!!

Not always about murder and mayhem!

To be continued….

  1. These were such good suggestions: also The Bureau (French), Fauda (Israel), False Flag, and just released Caliphate. And for fun: Call My Agent.

“Caliphate”, mesmerizing! As is “Fauda” (both series); looking ahead to “False Flag” & “Call My Agent”. Gracious thanks! P.
