BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM

Many of you asked why I did not include this category in my contest. The reason is simple, I have not see them all and I refuse to judge on instinct or “playing the odds”. Also, I was massively disappointed that “The Intouchables” was ignored; in my estimation it was one of the best films of the year.

But for those of you who savor the challenge, you may guess and receive extra credit, but ONLY if you have answered the other seven choices correctly. Those of you who choose NOT to guess “the best foreign film” will NOT be penalized.

Here they are:

AMOUR (ALSO INCLUDED IN THE “BEST PICTURE” CATEGORY) AUSTRIA

A ROYAL AFFAIR: DENMARK

KON TIKI: NORWAY

NO: CHILE

WAR WITCH (REBELLE): CANADA

From the three that I did see (“AMOUR’, “A ROYAL AFFAIR”, “WAR WITCH”) my selection is “AMOUR”.

Those of you who enter make my evening a riotous good time! Best of luck.

  1. Amour most likely will win. We saw the Switzerland movie Sister which we thought was wonderful and thought it was up for an award. We liked Intouchables but it can’t be compared to Amour.

  2. I have only seen ROYAL AFFAIR and AMOUR, my vote is for the latter, although ROYAL AFFAIR was quite wonderful!
