HOW TO BLOW UP A PIPELINE (in theatres)

Electrifying and terrifying, sensationally realistic, here is fiction, whose genius lies in its documentary style; writer/director Daniel Goldhaber focuses on disillusioned, disenfranchised, environmental activists whose faith in the system has atrophied; their combined mission is to destroy a pipeline in Texas, alerting the populace to the toxic properties of “oil”, and the companies that deny their culpability and absence of accountability. The beauty of the film is its intricacies in bomb creation interspersed with the biographies of the “terrorists”; intelligence and empathy are perpetually at play; their egregious, violent action cloaked in the idealism of their mission. Realizing their criminality but deeply rooting for their success is a major conundrum.

Majesty surfaces in the final sequences, warranting respect and grudging admiration for the neophyte miscreants and the remarkability of the filmmaker.

FOUR STARS!!!!
